Lapoutroie, Sees passage ancestral between Alsace and Lorraine attended as of the Neolithic era, the Valley of Orbey always constituted a unit human, economic and administrative strong. Today still the five communes which make the canton of Lapoutroie form the country welsche, of French-speaking culture. It is a long and tormented history which characterizes this small ground end which regularly was in the heart of the free-Germanic competitions, but also place of meetings and exchanges between the two cultures. Coveted by the townsman in search of entertaining spaces of quality, the Valley of Orbey was not less, and until there is little, a rough and hard country of which agriculture and sylviculture, then a small textile industry, were the only resources. A food agriculture shared between pastures, orchards, chènevières and fields of rye which just ensured the peasant his provende. An image of the past. Today, the installation of several dynamic companies, the country holidays and an agriculture which resolutely made the choice of quality (cheeses, medicinal plants, meats of breeding in the open air...) make it possible the valley to post a vitality that many of other areas could envy to him. |
